英語演講稿2
We live in a busy society. We may have demanding jobs, children, families and many other "important" things that hoover up all of our time, and before we know it, Christmas is looming once more and we're muttering about another year just passing us by.
How many times do you say, "I'll read that book later when I have more time" or "I'll finish listening to that audio program when I have more time" or something very similar?
You may want to create the life of your dreams, but it just seems so very difficult with so many other things that just have to be dealt with. You may not have the time to spend an hour a day meditating and an hour a day working on your personal development and an hour a day working on your business. In fact, for some of us, we're lucky if we can even find time to sleep!
However, the key is not the spend time "doing" personal development work, but to just do it!

secretary kerry: well, nisha, thank you very, very much. welcome, everybody, to acelebration, and happy diwali to all of you. it’s nice to be here.
audience: happy diwali. (applause.)
secretary kerry: thank you very much. we are really pleased to be celebrating this tonight, and i’m particularly grateful for nisha, both for her generous welcome to all of you and to me,but more especially because she’s making really critical efforts in a key part of the world, obviously, as assistant secretary of state for south and central asia. and i was delighted toselect her for that job, and she has not let me down. she is persistent, tenacious – where areher parents? where are the parents? (laughter.) raise your hands. where are the – where areyour parents?
assistant secretary biswal: right here. right over here.
secretary kerry: hooray for you. well done. (applause.) thank you. well, i want you to knowshe’s doing a terrific job. (laughter.) i didn’t just single you out to tell her how bad she is. imean – (laughter) – but she’s doing fabulous. and she left india when she was only six yearsold, and today, literally in just a few decades, she’s become one of the important leaders inamerican foreign policy. and her odyssey, if we call it that, really speaks to the power of theamerican dream. it shows how aspirations and traditions and histories from all over the worldcome together still in this melting pot, and they revitalize and they renew our nation.
and that’s really what makes america different from every other place. we are not defined byone race or one ideology or one history. we are defined by the idea of all people being createdequal and being able to come and exercise their right to pursue a dream here in the unitedstates, but to become very american in doing so. and nisha has obviously described the wayshe does that.
i also want to thank priest narayanachar, who in a few moments is going to lead an invocationand light the diya, the traditional diwali lamp. and priest narayanachar helps to lead one ofthe largest hindu temples in the united states at sri siva vishnu, and it’s difficult to believethat this is a community that began with only a few recent indian immigrants who celebratedoccasions like this one in their own homes. and less than four decades later, the temple not onlyserves as a spiritual home for thousands of hindu americans, but it provides support andoutreach for people of all backgrounds and beliefs.
so as we celebrate diwali this evening, we also hail the accomplishments of the manyhundreds of thousands of hindu, sikh, buddhist, and jain americans who live now all across ourcountry in every community. and we honor their faith and their traditions, and theindispensable contributions that they make every single day to our prosperity, to ourfreedom, and to our culture – to this new chapter of american history that they are helping towrite. and today, the south asian diaspora is a pillar of every aspect of american society.south asians sit in the executive suites of some of our country’s most successful companies, orat the very helm of all of them. they launch startups and earn graduate degrees at severaltimes the national average. they are a driving force behind american leadership and scienceand innovation, and in the history of our nation – and we are a nation of immigrants – it ishard to find any group of americans who have achieved more in such a relatively short period oftime. (applause.)
now, as everybody here knows better than anybody in the world, india is, of course, a countryof enormous energy and power. it is by far the largest nation in south asia, and last monthduring prime minister modi’s visit to the united states, we had an unforgettable chance both tobuild on the already deep ties between america and india, and many of you were here whenvice president biden and i welcomed the prime minister right here to this very stage. theprime minister’s visit was a moment when indians and americans could get a real sense ofwhat our two nations are able to accomplish together by working together, by fighting againstterrorism, by creating opportunity for our young people, by combating climate change, toachieving greater progress by pushing back the boundaries of science and technology. and weare determined to build on that moment that was so well defined here in the primeminister’s words and in the vice president’s words, so that the world’s oldest and largestdemocracies can realize the truly extraordinary, boundless potential of our relationship.
india and the united states – and i discovered this really back when i was in the senate. ithink as a senator i took the first senate business mission, if you will, with a whole bunch ofbusinesses to india very shortly after then finance minister singh had announced theeconomic reforms. and that was a time when it was still breaking through the prior years ofsome suspicion and a certain hangover from the cold war.
and we worked hard to prove that we were, in fact, natural partners, which i believe we are. weare two optimistic nations who believe that history doesn’t shape us, but that we have thepower to shape history. and that spirit of hope and optimism is really at the center of thediwali celebration. as the days grow shorter, the diwali reminds us that spring always returns –that knowledge triumphs over ignorance, hope outlasts despair, and light replaces darkness.diwali is a time for the revitalization of mind and spirit. and just as critically, it affords a chanceto reflect on how we can bring light to others. it is an opportunity for us all, regardless of ourown traditions, to renew a shared commitment to human dignity, compassion, and service– and it is a commitment, i think, at the heart of all great faiths.
so just last week, i hosted a celebration for the diplomatic community commemorating eidal-adha. earlier in the year we marked the nowruz celebration. and tonight, thanks to the goodefforts of shaun casey, who i did bring in here to create the first ever interfaith office withinthe state department, we are now appropriately celebrating diwali too. (applause.) it’simportant to note that these special celebrations are celebrated in communities all acrossamerica and in india and in other countries. and it’s an indication of how our mutualcommitment to religious tolerance and pluralism helps to define and to strengthen our twodemocracies.
president obama and prime minister modi had a chance to celebrate these shared values lastmonth when they crossed the avenue from the white house and together went to visit themartin luther king memorial. and everybody near knows how influenced dr. king was bymahatma gandhi. the two leaders stopped to read a few words from dr. king, words thatcautioned all of us, and still do, against the tendency for violence to fuel future violence. andhe warned us all: “darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. hate cannot driveout hate; only love can do that.” and as dr. king testified so often, life is a constant strugglebetween the better and lesser angels of our nature. tonight, as we come together in the spiritof the diwali festival, we need to, all of us, think about how to reaffirm our sharedcommitment to the light. and this is particularly a moment as we look at the events aroundthe world where that commitment could serve all humankind.
so in closing, i want to thank all of you for joining us at the state department’s first ever diwalicelebration. i guarantee you it will not be our last. (laughter and applause.) and it isimportant in many ways for all of us on occasions like this to be able to come together andcelebrate the diversity of our backgrounds, the diversity of our beliefs, to count our sharedblessings and our responsibilities, and to do so as sisters and brothers, as mothers and fathers,as members of a community, as citizens of a nation, and as stewards of our planet.
so i am pleased now to introduce one of the leading members of the diplomatic corps here inwashington, a distinguished public servant, and he’s a terrific representative of his country.he’s also a passionate advocate for the stronger ties between the united states and india.and i am talking, of course, about ambassador subrahmanyam jaishankar. thank you. (applause.)

The sun has begun to set and I hang up the smile I’ve worn all day, thoughI will make sure it is the first thing I put back on in the morning just in caseit is “that day.” I want her to see me at my very best.
I do the normal routine, eat dinner, clean the house, write—the then I lay down hoping to fall asleep quickly so my new day willhurry up and arrive.A new day with a brand new as I lay there and waitfor the world to turn half way around, I think about sometimes I smile, and sometimes that smile will turn into asnicker, and then often that snickerwill turn into a burst of laughter.
And then there are times I get that lump in my throat and that tightfeeling in my chest, and sometimes that feeling overwhelms me and begins to turninto a tear, and often that tear multiplies itself and I can no longer fight thefeeling and I lose the somehow through either the joy or thesadness I drift and find myself the dreams begin and keep mecompany until my new day arrives.

Youth is not a time of life, it is a state of mind ; it is not rosy cheeks , red lips and supple knees, it is a matter of the emotions : it is the freshness ; it is the freshness of the deep springs of life .
Youth means a temperamental predominance of courage over timidity of the appetite , for adventure over the love of ease. This often exists in a man of 60 more than a boy of 20 . Nobody grows old merely by a number of years . We grow old by deserting our ideals.
Years wrinkle the skin , but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul . Worry , fear , self –distrust bows the heart and turns the spirit back to dust .
Whether 60 of 16 , there is in every human being ‘s heart the lure of wonders, the unfailing childlike appetite of what’s next and the joy of the game of living . In the center of your heart and my heart there’s a wireless station : so long as it receives messages of beauty , hope ,cheer, courage and power from man and from the infinite, so long as you are young.
When your aerials are down, and your spirit is covered with snows of cynicism and the ice of pessimism, then you’ve grown old, even at 20; but as long as your aerials are up, to catch waves of optimism, there’s hope you may die young at 80.

This is an interesting place.
You come here to exchange things, you come here to save money, and you come here to give your waste things a home.
What is it? Not the supermarket, not the dustbin, not the place that is dealing with rubbish of course, but it is a place on our campus.Yes, it is the flea market.
I have already sold my books and bags that I no longer need there, and have bought a lovely bottle there at a good price.
I will show you four benefits by doing this according to my experience, but before that,I have to tell you that you should keep an open mind when going there.
You may not come away with the things that were on your list, but thats the beauty of the hunt: you never know what youll find.
If you didnt find a particular item this week, dont despair ,since youll have chance to find it next time.
Now I will show you the four reasons that may help you to find a new way to deal with your waste things next time.Firstly, save money.
By selling the things you no longer needs, you can cover some of the original cost which can be of great importance to those students who have not got their own income.
And with the similar function and a much lower price, the financial difficulty that troubled many poor students can be solved much more easily.
What’s more, experts estimated that if all textbooks in universities can be used once again, we can save about 100 million Yuan which can help you to travel to moon for one time.Secondly, develop a good habit.
Selling the waste things in a flea market can help the sellers to cultivate a good habit of making full use of their belongings.
Thus you will think twice before buying a new product next time.Thirdly, foster an intelligence to engage in business.
You can learn to communicate with others and promote sale of your products to others at a proper price by doing this.
Your practical ability can also improve a lot.Don’t forget the last one, environmental-friendly.
According to the latest report, if a small-size city reuses the textbooks for one time, they can save 1.5 million in only a semester’s time.Anyway, a flea market is an interesting place to visit if you want to buy something or if you want to buy nothing.
Dont be surprised if you find the very thing you have been looking for or come back home with your hands empty.Hope the fact I have presented to you will help you to make a wise choice next time when dealing with your waste things.
Remember: many a little makes a fickle

The family is one of the best things in the world, it is spring, moistens dry up your mind, it is light, light the way forward for me, it is a cup of tea, warm me.
If nature is used to describe the family, the love is the sun in the winter, it's warm. No matter you are what kind of injustice, the family will not laugh at you, it will comfort you, when you meet with difficulties, it will immediately give you hope and the power, let you solved.
The final exam approaching, nature is a tension, teacher than a student still nervous. The most obvious evidence, homework more.
Recently, English became my sorrow. Recite the text is my nightmare. The night, the wind has not respected bone, I stay up late to work overtime to become commonplace.
Back home, first thing is to review. As time goes by, the window is at night, when others are fast asleep, lang lang came home, national who is surprised, remembered that is yourself. Father woke up, sleepy, fear to say: "the child hard, go to bed early." I nodded slightly, but let me have more power.
The family is warm in the winter the sun, you warm me, you gave me unlimited power and hope. You are my life the fine night, the lowest in my life.

1、text me!
2、acronyms首字母縮寫
首字母縮寫是由每個單詞的第一個字母組合而成的,比如un就是指united nations.短信里,首字母縮寫常常被用在習慣用語中。另外,發(fā)聲相似的詞會被字母取代。請看一些例子:
oic- oh i see.
brb - be right back
bfn - bye for now
lol - laughing out loud
asap - as soon as possible
btw - by the way
fyi - for your information
jk - just kidding
ttyl - talk to you later

Everyone knows the name of Shakespeare but not much about his personal life.
Do you know how William Shakespeare lived before he went to London?
What about his family?
What were his dreams and ambitions?
What did he do when he first came to London to try his fortune?
Today, I want to introduce the early life of William Shakespeare and his great influence to the world.
Family:
Shakespeare was born and pought up in Stratford . He was the son of John Shakespeare, an alderman and a successful glover, and Mary Arden , the daughter of a landowning farmer. He had two older sisters, Joan and Judith , and two younger pothers, Gilbert and Richard.
At the age of 18, Shakespeare married 26-year-old Anne Hathaway , who was an English poet, actor and playwright.Six months after the marriage Anne gave birth to a daughter, Susanna in 1583. Twins, a son and a daughter followed almost two years later and were born in 1585. As Shakespeare had some good friends, Hamnet and Judith Sadler, he named the twins after them, so his son was calledHamnet and his daughter Judith. Unfortunately, in 1596, his son Hamnet died of unknown causes at the age of 11.
This is thefamily tree of Shakespeare’s family and this picture depicts Shakespeare as a family man surrounded by his children, who listened to his stories. Anne was portrayed at the right as an idealized housewife, sewing a garment.
Dreams and ambitions:
When Shakespeare was young, he had a dream of being a poet. With great ambition and determination, Shakespeare was diligent in his studies. He read a lot about books, poetry and writers. When he left school, he worked for his father. However, Shakespeare wasn’t interested in his father’s business. He was still reading a lot and was already writing poems himself.
In the summer months companies of players often came to small towns, and in 1587 five different companies came. Shakespeare always went to see the plays. He loved to talk to the actors and to listen to all their stories of London. He yearned for London, and therefore, he made a decision to get away from his hometown and left for London to pursue his goal.
Early life in London:
Shakespeare was good at acting. He worked for the Queen’s Men at the theatre called The Curtain up in Shoreditch. He acted four small parts in two different plays. He played a soldier and a murderer in one play, and in the other play he was a thief, and also an Italian lord in love with the Queen of the Night. And he loved it.
One day, Shakespeare met Burbage, an actor of Lord Strange ’s Men , who invited him to work with Lord Strange’s Men at the Rose theatre on Bankside. Shakespeare worked harder than ever at the Rose. By 1592 London was hearing the name William Shakespeare again and again.
After 1594, Shakespeare"s plays were performed only by the Lord Chamberlain"s Men .The Lord Chamberlain was a very important man, close to the Queen, and Shakespeare put on plays for the Queen’s court and in the houses of the great lords of England. Among the actors, Shakespeare was special-because he wrote plays. He was always trying something new, something different. And he wrote fast, too.
In 1596, His writing changed after Hamnet’s death. Shakespeare still laughed at people in his plays, but he also felt sorry for them- sorry for all the world, good and bad, rich and poor, young and old. And his people were real. No one was all good, or all bad.
These are all about Shakespeare’s early life and now I want to introduce Shakespeare’s lasting influence on
theatre and literature.
Firstly , he expanded the dramatic potential of characterization, plot, language, and genre. Until Romeo and Juliet , for example, romance had not been viewed as a worthy topic for tragedy. Soliloquies had been used mainly to convey information about characters or events; but Shakespeare used them to explore characters" minds. Secondly , his works heavily influenced later poetry . The Romantic poets attempted to revive Shakespearean verse drama, though with little success. Last but not least , his use of language helped shape modern English. He introduced almost 3,000 words to the English language and used over 7,000 words only once in his plays.
Here are some of his sayings in his well-known works.

Dear friends, hello everyone!
Friendship is a lamp in life. Today, I would like to talk to you about the topic of " friendship".
Friendship is the most daily, the most natural, the most simple, is also the most need in the spiritual life of people; But it is the ideal of art, the feelings of poetry, the most affected by the spirit of the times. None of us in this world is isolated, we need not only affection, more need friendship. Friendship is a precious wealth that we have never found in our lives. the greatest pleasure in the world is friendship, mutual care and help, wisdom and friendship. they are the only light that illuminates our darkness. In the noisy world, can talk with his confidante is a great pleasure for life.
What is true friendship? Ancient Rome's pilatus once said: " friendship forged in adversity is the most precious thing in the world. " I believe you must have seen the film Madagascar, smart and lovely zebra Marty, heavy feeling heavy righteousness lion Alex, funny giraffe melman, and pregnant hippo gloria mistakenly crashed into Madagascar island, they help each other, improve the friendship between each other. What moved me was that when the zebra disappeared, the partners did not abandon it and ran out of the zoo at the risk of a wide range of search. In the lion helpless, pain, loneliness, partners and gave it sincere love, let delicate and charming friendship flowers bloom in everyone's heart, on them, flashing dazzling light of life. Four animals are surrounded by the warm light of love and friendship, touched by sincerity between each other, they are the happiest.
Let's talk about our this session, we are already a sixth grade students, more than half a year, everyone will say goodbye to his alma mater each rush things. In the last time, whether we use a tolerant, kind heart to treat students, the bad words and waving fists should also convergence? Hurt students once made can not be recovered, rather than lifelong regret as from now on, cherish friendship.
Friendship is a wealth that needs to be carefully saved and preserved. Friendship needs trust. trust is a bridge to build in the heart, a link to communicate the soul, and a string to vibrate the waves of emotion. Friendship needs tolerance, tolerance is the most attractive adhesive in interpersonal relationships, lubricant, it is like a flower, return you is so beautiful, is double happiness. Friendship is the rain of spring, the wind of summer, the fruit of autumn, the sun of winter, no one can measure the friendship at the foot of the road how long, friendship in the heart of the sea how deep, it is invisible, but gave birth to an amazing great.
Friendship between people is a panacea for the sick. Friendship, the mysterious union of the soul! The beautification of life, the consolidation of society!
Let us feel the society, feel life, feel the world, feel friendship

I want to wish Eid Mubarak to all Muslims celebrating Eid and a safe journey to those now on Hajj.
I know that many of you use this special time to reflect on what’s important to you in yourlives: your family, your friends, your beliefs, your commitment to do the best you can forothers.
It’s also a time to think about sacrifice and struggle – and that is particularly poignant thissummer as we continue to see so many innocent people – Muslim and non-Muslim – caught upin the ongoing conflicts in Syria, Gaza and Iraq.
It is truly heartbreaking to witness the loss that continues to take place in these parts of theworld. More than ever we need to strive for an end to the violence. We need to unite behindpeace, tolerance, compassion, generosity towards one and other – the values that are at theheart of Islam and the heart of Eid. Today I want to reaffirm my commitment to thosevalues, my party’s commitment to those values, and I want to wish you all a loving andpeaceful Eid.

Dear teachers and students:
hello everyone!
Today, I am very honored to stand under the solemn national flag and speak for you. As the young generation in the new century, we are the hope of our motherland.
The future of our motherland will surely belong to us. As students, the first thing we should do is to love our school. How can a student who doesn't even love his own school love his own country? Loving school is a very specific and close action. The school provides us with a good learning environment. Teachers work hard to cultivate us. This is the cradle of our growth. As students, we have no reason not to love our school.
Every student should protect the image and honor of the school like loving his own eyes; We should sincerely respect our teachers. We should consciously protect every plant of the school, beautify the natural environment, create an elegant cultural environment, and make the school a real garden and paradise; We should also love each other like our brothers and sisters. Let's love and learn from each other and grow up happily together!
We should cherish our time, study hard, work hard, win the excellent results of each school section, and contribute our part to the motherland in the future, so as to repay the school that raised us and our beloved teachers!
Thank you!

Good morning , boys and girls. I am pu lijuan and glad to give you a speech about stress.
Psychologist tell us that stress is a state of worry caused by the problem of living , such as too much work or study , heavy responsibilities .
Statistics show that stress comes from every detail in our life . Financial problems , poor health , being laid off may be the stress that most adults now are suffering . As students in the university , we are also under our special stress . While study , having to take various tests and submit a project against a deadline may put a great pressure on us . And the things that make us felt stressed may be our parents’s greater expectations on us than we could reach . Later , when we are likely to graduate , some other problems will also annoy us . I think we will worry a lot about our ability to compete in the job market and how we can best use what we’ve learned at college in our future job .
The chief problem we should face to is our attitude towards stress .People usually say they can not live in the sun except they escape from stress . It’s unwelcome ! Yes , however , very necessary . Just image a world where stress does not exist and people lead their life in a very comfortable way . But is this kind of living condition as perfect as we hope ? Without
stress , they may feel very satisfied with the current life but lack of power to discover new things . Too much satisfaction result in nothing except a countermarch of the society . No stress , no development . So a certain amount of stress is good . It can stimulate us and increase our level of alertness .
And our answer to stress is another vital problem . How to do with ourselves when stress suddenly break into our life ? To wave the white flag and admit our unability , to give up to our ideality , or worsely , just to suicide as to put an end to everything … Of cause not . The principle is to tackle with stress gently and harmoniously. We should try our best to release ourselves . Such as to do some exercise , to listen to t music to ease our minds and to learn to view these changes of life as challenges .It’s no use crying over spilt milk .
Only to accept what has happened can solve the problem .Ok , I think I was under large stress 5 minutes before , but now I am here and have finished my speech . Here is the last thing I want to add to my topic ,face to it and overcome it ,stress is also a piece of cake .
That is all . Thank you very much!
